Post by Minkstar on Mon Aug 10, 2015 11:04 pm

Welcome to Barking At The Moon!

Please read the information in the spoiler and the code carefully, because all that is within them is very important to this roleplay!

Next to a dirt road, a thick wooded area stands less than half a mile away from a human town. Here, a female German shepherd named Duchess decides, after being a victim of a heartless human, to create a pack for the lost and/or abandoned dogs who roam the forests. As her pack seems to grow in numbers, she has to remind the other dogs how untrustworthy humans can be more frequently.

Sober's form is accepted, but I'm not sure with Arachnid's. I forgot to put in the first post that characters can only be dogs. But, I guess you can act out a wolf, I like wolves myself.

(Accepted! I plan on starting the roleplay now by acting as Duchess when she was at first abandoned!)

Duchess got into her master's car, her tail wagging happily. The young German shepherd had no idea what was about to happen to her, but she knew her master was taking the both of them for a ride in his hood-less sports car. When she finally realized it was a new place he had taken the both of them to, she became excited. Her master pulled out her favorite ball from one of his pockets and threw it into the thick forest, shouting the command 'fetch'. She cheerfully chased after it. It bounced so much that she thought it would never stop. She finally caught it, but then she heard a faint noise that sounded like a car. It must be another car on the dirt road, she thought to herself. She then started going back the way she came. Her tail was wagging crazily as she neared the edge of the woods, but as she broke the thick brush cover, her tail dropped quickly. She was so shocked that she let the ball fall from her jaws. "Master?" she asked loudly, but she received no response. He abandoned me, she thought before she turned around and looked towards the forest she came out of.

~I'll begin when Mambo ran after her owners. If The color I use is to hard to read then I shall change it.~

It was around noon. A car with flashing lights came to the house. Mambo sat in her bed watching people carry out her male owner as the female quickly followed. Mambo stood up and began following the female. The female turned around and kneeled down. She patted Mambo's head. "No Cadence you must stay here. I must follow daddy. So you be a good girl while we are gone." She ordered and left the house, closing the door behind her. Mambo jumped onto the couch and began barking. The cars quickly drove off. Mambo spun around and dashed to the back door.Drat they locked the dog door... Wait! The basement dog door! They never lock it when they leave! She dashed down the stairs and through the dog door. She let out strings of barks as she ran after the cars. About 7 minutes have passed and they reached town. Mambo was about 2 minutes behind the cars. Her barking continued and cars began honking and slamming on the brakes as she sprinted by. The cars turned into the hospital. She ran across the intersection. She stopped and ran to the right as a car almost hit her. She dodge multiple cars before realizing that she was lost. She tried to find her way back but to no avail. She now strode along a dirt road, not knowing where she was going.

Duchess sighed before she sat down, staring at the unfamiliar forest she most likely has to live in now. Maybe he thought I'd come from a different edge of the forest, she thought before she stood up and started padding along the dirt road. Less than 15 minutes later, she knew her master truly did abandon her. The German shepherd was about to go into the forest when she noticed an Australian shepherd padding along the dirt road. Duchess wagged her tail once at the fellow dog. "Are you lost? Or did you get abandoned like I did?" she asked the female dog curiously.

Arachnid crouched down in the tall grass. In front of her stood a rabbit. It's ears flicked and it's nose twitched. The rabbit nibbled at a berry bush, unaware of the she-wolf stalking it. She adjusted her shoulders and launched of the earth. The rabbit was too slow for Arachnid. Her jaws clamped over the rabbit neck. She grinned happily at her kill and began walking. She came to a clearing and dropped the rabbit on a rock. "Sup' Spider." Arachnids eye twitched. I thought I told up to not to call me that. After all I did leave the pack so I'd be best to not call me by that pack name. It's Arachnid." She spat at the brown wolf standing behind her. "Besides aren't you wandering far out of pack territory?" "Always snappy as usual. Maybe that's you were announced Spider. Being so venomous all the time. Well anyways, Arachnid, I just be out of your fur. Till next time." The male ran off. She sighed and laid on the floor beginning to devour the rabbit. Such a nuisance. Maybe that's why I left the pack.

(I guess I'll roleplay as Avalanche to respond to Arachnid)

Avalanche was walking around the forest. After running away from his humans because of them beating him almost constantly, he had found this place far enough from a wolf pack he had heard from some other lone dog. The big male Tatra shepherd was the perfect size for a guard dog, but his fur hid how skinny he really was. It had been 3 months since he had been in the hands of those merciless humans, and now, he was nearly starving. If I don't find something to eat with blood in its veins, I'll lose some body weight, he thought to himself. He sniffed the ground endlessly until he came across the smell of blood. Little did he know was that the scent would lead him to a wolf. The large white fluffy dog followed the scent to a small clearing and froze as he saw Arachnid. A wolf.......oh no, he thought to himself. He took a step back and accidentally stepped on a twig, it breaking with a loud crack.

(I am going to be changing the text colors. I just wanna mix it up since I use yellow a lot.)

Arachnid whiped around at the sound of the break. She began growling and approached the area where the snap came from. "Who are you!?" She demanded. For being a lone wolf now she had to look threatening. Her eyes were narrowed at the fluffy white dog but her teeth remained hidden. His fluffy fur didn't trick her into thinking her was well fed. He has the scent of humans all over him. I would expect a pet to be fed but if he was fed his pelt would be fuller and he'd be a lot more fluffier. I should know from my experiences with pets in the pack.

Avalanche lowered his head. "Just a lost dog, no threat to a wolf." he answered the wolf fearfully. His ears dropped and his tail was tucked, showing exactly how fearful he was of the wolf before him. "My name's Avalanche. I ran away from my humans and intend on avoiding them until I'm dead. I didn't realize I could still meet a wolf even no where near the wolf pack." he explained to the she-wolf.

Mambo looked at the dog. She like herself was a house pet. Mambo stopped walking and looked towards the ground. "Well I ran out of the house after my owners, disobeying their commend. I was lost but when I think about it, I have no idea where I belong now." Her ears dropped and her tail rested against the dirt road. "You were abandoned?"

Duchess raised her tail and growled low but she didn't show the other dog signs that she was going to attack. She turned away, stopped growling, and sighed. "Sometimes humans run away from their dogs, their loyal companions. My human tricked me into chasing my ball into the forest. When I came back to bring the ball back to them, they had drove off, leaving me here." she told the fellow dog. At the word "belong", her ears lifted and her tail wagged once. "If you are willing to take part, I am thinking of making a pack where abandoned or lost dogs can belong and survive without threat of humans abusing them anymore. I will the alpha, I will keep others safe. My name is Duchess, what is yours?" she asked the dog, her tail raising slightly.

Arachnid lowered her defense."Well when a wolf is found no where near their pack, they are most likely a Lone Wolf."She took one more look at Avalanche. She sighed and turned around, walking back. She picked up the rabbit and brought it to the white dog. She dropped it at his paws. "Take it. It should be plenty for a dog like you. I am Arachnid by the way." Maybe... Just maybe he could be helpful to my survival and I to his.

Avalanche looked down at the rabbit before shaking his head. "No, we'll share it. You need to eat too, ya know." he responded, smiling. "It must be hard for a lone wolf.....it's possibly even harder for a lone dog. I heard of a dirt road next to a forest that looks promising to survival. I have tried heading there, but my hunting skills aren't getting me anywhere. Like in the wilderness is harder than I'd pictured it to be. I haven't eaten in days, I've lost so much weight I actually feel just how much I've lost by the feeling in my legs." he added in, taking one bite of the rabbit's belly.

Mambo's tail lifted of the dirk road and waved from side to side slowly. "I am..." She paused. It would be shame to carry the pet name given to me by my previous owners. "I am Mambo. And I would love to join you."

Duchess dipped her head. "First I'd like to find a place to sleep that is warm and dry. But we must be careful, we don't exactly know what lurks in that forest. There could be dangerous animals like snakes and bears in there and we wouldn't know it. So try to keep as quiet as possible when we enter it, and lets hope nothing harmful in there knows we're here yet." she told the dog before turning towards the forest. "Lets go, Mambo." she barked before she jumped into the brush, disappearing before she peeked her head out to wait for the other dog.

Mambo nodded in response."Coming." She whispered and dived into the bush after Duchess. She kept her tail from wagging side to side to be sure that she wouldn't cause any sounds and give off their positions."What exactly is the plan for creating this pack?" She popped her out of the bush next to Duchess and looked at her.

Re: Barking At The Moon (dog roleplay)

Arachnid shook her head in response. "I had my fill today. After a visitor came by I lost my appetite. But you're not the visitor I lost my appetite to though." She sighed and sat down, watching Avalanche. "Besides after you eat we might as well go to this dirt road you speak of. And trust me survival in a pack is much more stressful but survival for a single wolf, or dog, is even harder because you don't have any other dog to rely on. But now we both can rely on each other... right?" She tilted her head.

Duchess wagged her tail down low to keep the noises to a minimum. She turned towards the other dog as she asked her a question. "I'm just making it up as I go, to be honest. So far, I'm thinking of creating a well-developed ranking system like there is in a wolf pack." she answered Mambo, the Australian shepherd.

Avalanche sighed and began eating the rabbit more, still trying to leave some for her. "I don't know if I can trust you right away though, Arachnid. I trusted those humans and they began beating me with sticks, rocks, and rods. I just met you and you're a wolf.......you could kill me if you wanted to." he responded, his tail lowered.
