Camp clearing Beauty2

Trees allow very little sunlight to hit the clearing where the underbrush doesn't grow. The leader's den is inside the base of a tree trunk. The warrior's den is a dug in tunnel. The apprentice's den is the same but right next to a tree. The medicine cat's den is a fallen tree with pine tree branches creating a canopy over its entrance. The nursery is the same on the opposite side of camp. And the elder's den is a giant hole in the base of the biggest tree near camp.

Camp clearing Empty Re: Camp clearing

Post by Minkstar Mon Jul 13, 2015 7:37 pm

No-tail padded outside of the elder's den, her clouded-over brown eyes blinking as she sniffed for the fresh-kill pile. Since the former warrior lost her eye-sight, she had been renamed and sent to rest in honor. She didn't believe her short experience as a warrior was worth honoring. Without sight or a tail for balancing, one jump from a large rock could kill her, which set her uneasy with each step she took. Finally, she reached the fresh-kill pile. She sniffed around it, managing to pick out a rabbit's scent. She grasped the limp morsel in her maw before she padded 2 fox-lengths away before she started eating it.

Camp clearing Empty Re: Camp clearing

Post by Foxstar Tue Sep 01, 2015 11:26 pm

"No-tail, would you like to eat with me?" Foxstar asked the young elder. She knew No-tail didn't think she deserved to be honored, and could relate to that. Just because Foxstar was the leader, she didn't think she should get special treatment.

No-tail raised her head from the rabbit's limp body as she heard a voice, immediately recognizing it as her leader's voice. "Well," she paused before clicking her tongue, her voice raggedy with age, "I don't want to turn down an invitation to eat with Shadowclan's honorable leader." she mewed, her eyes blinking as she stood up from her sitting position, picking up her half-eaten rabbit, before she slowly and cautiously padded towards the direction she heard Foxstar's voice come from.

"Is there anything you would like to do after this, No-tail? I'm more than happy to go out into the marshes with you, I feel so cooped up here," Foxstar suggested as No-tail came closer.

Camp clearing Empty Re: Camp clearing

Post by Minkstar Thu Sep 03, 2015 11:43 pm

(You do realize that she's blind, don't you? lol)

No-tail shook her head. "With my blindness, I'd feel safer staying here in camp. I would like to go someplace else, but my joints are aching today." she mewed in response, her ears lowering. The elder sat down and started to try and groom herself, but with her old age, she couldn't reach all the places she used to be able to when she was younger.

Camp clearing Empty Re: Camp clearing

Post by Emeraldgaze Fri Sep 04, 2015 10:36 pm

Emeraldgaze made her way out of the medicine cat's den after checking up on the herb stock. Everything seemed to be in order there, and she wasn't running low on much anything. The only true worry she held was the possibility that she swapped the positions of the nettle leaves and nettle seeds. But such were the chances of the average medicine cat. She looked around the clearing around her, green gaze landing on the tailless elder the Clan's very own leader. Smiling, she made her way over for a bit of friendly conversation.

"Hello Foxstar, No-tail," she meowed, standing beside the elder. She glanced at No-tail, having caught the previous statement, but decided to wait before ushering her to the medicine cat's den for achy joints. Instead, she politely asked to join their ongoing conversation, "Would you mind if I joined you for a quick sit?"

Camp clearing Empty Re: Camp clearing

No-tail nearly jumped out of her pelt as a new voice came in, close by. She recognized it as Emeraldgaze, her clan's medicine cat. The elder wagged her stumpy tail in acknowledgement of the she-cat before she shook her head at her question. "Anything to keep m occupied." she mewed, her voice cracking again.

"Of course, Emeraldgaze. Would you like me to help, No-tail," Foxstar asked, trying not to offend her, but Foxstar knew No-tail wasn't getting everywhere.

(Toooooo much purple!!!!! O.O)

No-tail's slight grin vanished as she heard her leader's question. "Oh, stop treating me like I'm some cat in need of assistance! I may be old, but with age comes wisdom! If my aching joints hurt me, they're gonna hurt me, herbs may change it, but I know after a while the aching will come back again." she answered in her raspy voice.

Camp clearing Empty Re: Camp clearing

Post by Minkstar Thu Sep 10, 2015 9:43 pm

(Foxstar, please reply to a roleplay with at least 4 sentences, because that is what I put in the rules topic, and I really don't want to be strict as some of my teachers are. This is just a reminder! Smile )

No-tail's ears twitched at his apology. "Leaders shouldn't apologize for accidentally angering another cat. I admit, I don't like being treated like I'm completely disabled. Aching joints and blindness might make other cats think that and want to help me, but on the inside I'm still the fiery young warrior I was when I could see." she mewed in comfort before she turned towards Emeraldgaze. "Taking a break from your herbs or are you not as busy?" she asked the she-cat.

Camp clearing Empty Re: Camp clearing

(Sorry! I just have a bit of trouble following those types of rules. I try to follow them, but I swear, I either type one sentence or an essay... I'll do better in the future, promise!)

"Well, I guess I'm that type of cat. Anyway, Emeraldgaze, how are you stocks?" Foxstar said. She watched the kits tumbling about the clearing, smiling at their antics.

Camp clearing Empty Re: Camp clearing

Post by Emeraldgaze Fri Sep 11, 2015 4:49 am

(This one's bit short on my part, sorry.)

Emeraldgaze sat down, listening to the brief back-and-forth between Foxstar and No-tail. She glanced between the two at the questions proposed. She smiled a bit, "I just finished checking up on the stocks, actually, and they're just fine. I have plenty of everything and I'm not too busy, so I decided to leave the den for a bit." She paused, continuing with a question of her own, "How are your duties as leader going, Foxstar? Have they been keeping you busy?"

No-tail lied down near them, her stumpy tail moving back and forth. "Such a peaceful day." she mewed softly. She closed her eyes as she sunned herself. All's well with the clan it seems, she thought to herself.

"You got that right. But the fact that is is so peaceful makes me wonder what the other clans are up to," Foxstar mewed, yawning. "But, you know, you must never pass up a nap."

No-tail chuckled at his response. "Yeah, but by the time you finally fall asleep, some clanmate will be calling for you." she mewed, gently joking. The cream and light brown bob-tailed she-cat yawned herself. "I'm tired and yet I don't want to sleep through such a lovely day." she added in with another yawn.

"Well, maybe this once luck will be with me and I'll be able to get some peace. And, anyway, if someone does come, I'll let you take care of it, mmkay?" Foxstar joked back, closing her eyes most of the way. As she did this she heard the silence that their words had been breaking. "No-tail, is today the yearly prank day? This silence, is, well, a little to silent."

Camp clearing Empty Re: Camp clearing

Post by Minkstar Tue Sep 22, 2015 9:15 pm

No-tail let out a mrow of laughter. "Nah, I have enough honor as an elder, Foxstar. Besides, a blind cat for a leader is a poor image of Shadowclan's strength and pride." she mewed in response before her ears turned back. "It is too silent for a day in camp, usually some kit gets in trouble or something." she added in, her stumpy tail wagging.
